Please sign up for a MyChart account before your first visit.
Our scheduling team will call you to schedule an appointment.
If something changes and you need to reschedule your appointment, please tell us at least 24-48 hours in advance by calling 613-737-7600 x2222.No-shows or frequent cancellations may result in discharge from the service.
Your appointment may be in person, virtual (using zoom), or by telephone.
During your in-person appointment, the team may arrange for you to have some diagnostic testing done or see another clinical care team. The nurse will call your name and place you in an exam room to get a brief history. CHEO is a teaching hospital, and as a result, your visit may involve meeting with residents, surgical fellows, and or medical students.
For virtual appointments, you should expect to receive an email with a link to join a ZOOM meeting or a virtual meeting 1 to 2 days before your appointment. If you do not receive your link, please call 613-737-7600 ext. 1011 or email virtualcarescheduling@cheo.on.ca to ensure that your email address is correct and to receive the link.If you sign up for MyChart, the link can also be found in the MyChart account.
Follow-up appointments will be arranged depending on your child’s needs and the findings of the team members. Patients and families can always reach out to us for any post-clinic or post-operation inquiries.
Frequently asked questions
How can I make an appointment?
All patients must be referred by a Physician or Nurse Practitioner. After a referral is received, we will notify the referring Physician or Nurse Practitioner whether the referral has been accepted or denied. If accepted, we will provide an estimated wait time. This waits time can vary based on demand and urgency. Once we have an appointment spot to offer, our Scheduling Team will reach you by phone to schedule an appointment.
For any emergency, call 911. This includes emergencies involving your child’s Plastic Surgery-related concerns.
For patients who are being followed by the Plastic Surgery Clinic: For patients who have seen a CHEO Plastic Surgery Provider, call your Nurse Case Manager or send a direct message to them through MyChart. This is not for urgent calls. Our nurses are here to give support, education and will work to coordinate your child’s care. It may take 3-5 days for us to get back to you (and sometimes longer during holidays). We will return the most serious calls first. Please avoid leaving multiple messages for the same issue.
For patients who are waiting for their first visit with the Plastic Surgery Clinic: Please do not call the nurses’ line if you have not yet been seen by a CHEO Plastic Surgery Provider. Please call your family doctor, pediatrician or visit your nearest walk-in clinic for everything else.
Sign up for MyChart to access your CHEO health record anywhere, any time.
