What we do and who we see
The Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Program at CHEO provides assessment and treatment for children and youth who have a moderate to severe eating disorder, and their families. The program currently consists of an inpatient unit, a partial hospitalization program, a day treatment program and an outpatient program. Our program's primary treatment model is family-based treatment.
Make a referral
Our region has various services that provide eating disorder treatment for youth. The CHEO eating disorder program provides specific types of treatment.
Patients must meet criteria and be referred by a physician or nurse practitioner in Ontario. We do not accept referrals from outside Ontario.
- Children, youth, families and health-care providers can now connect, request information and book referrals for CHEO mental health services through 1Call1Click.ca. Visit 1Call1Click.ca to learn more and book an appointment.
- After your appointment with 1Call1Click your physician will be sent a triage form to complete. They will likely need another appointment with your child to complete the form which will include some medical tests (bloodwork, an ECG and urine test).
- Once your referral has been submitted with the required documentation then it will be triaged by our team and an intake worker from 1call1click will contact you about next steps.
