About the Gender Diversity Clinic
CHEO’s Gender Diversity clinic supports children, youth and families at all stages of their journey with gender identity.
About our team
Our team includes physicians from various subspecialties, registered nurses, social workers and a psychologist.
During your visit you will meet various members from the Adolescent Health and Endocrinology teams and their respective clinics. You might also meet staff and medical staff from other areas across CHEO.

You will need to bring the following items to your appointment:
Please sign up for a MyChart account, prior to your first visit. Our scheduling team will contact you by phone to schedule an appointment. If something changes and you need to reschedule your appointment, please let us know at least 24-48 hours in advance if you are unable to make it by calling 613-737-7600 x2222. No-shows or frequent cancellations may result in discharge from the service. |

How can I make an appointment? |
We accept referrals from:
Once we get your referral, we review it and book an appointment for you. Sometimes we need more information from you, so we might contact you by phone to ask you a few questions and/or we might book a first meeting for you with our social worker. We will call you directly to let you know your appointment time. |
Who should I contact if I am worried or have questions? |
For any emergency, including issues related to personal safety: call 911. This includes emergencies involving your child’s Gender Diversity-related concerns. How long will I have to wait for my appointment? |
Our wait times vary and each referral is triaged for urgency. We will book your intake appointment as soon as we can. Should your condition change please have your doctor reach out to the clinic with an update. |

Our clinic is now accepting e-referrals with Ocean!
If you’re already on Ocean, look us up via your account by searching "CHEO".
If you don’t yet have an Ocean account, no problem - signing up is free.
You can make an e-referral using Ocean, or meet with your family doctor, pediatrician or school guidance counsellor, etc. and ask them to send in a referral.
