About us
The CHEO Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) provides life-saving care to infants, children and youth weighing up to 40kg (88lbs) in Ontario and Western Quebec. Serving 440,000km2 – nearly half the size of Ontario – our mobile ICU that travels by land ambulance, airplane and helicopter.
Comprised of highly trained registered nurses and respiratory therapists, the CCTT offers advanced care during transport, including intubation, administering medications and stabilizing critically ill children. With specialized equipment and expertise, the team is ready to handle complex medical situations during transit.
Thanks to donations through the CHEO Foundation, the CCTT has state-of-the-art equipment to help meet the needs of approximately 500 children and babies the team transports annually.
