Today at approximately 12:30 p.m., CHEO issued a CODE GREY due to a watermain break near the main entrance. This incident occurred during construction related activity close to the main doors of the building. This incident has disrupted our access to water for clinical care, cooling, drinking water and restroom facilities.
At the present time, we are actively working on solutions with our hospital and other local partners to help resolve this situation and reduce the impact on patients and their families.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have cancelled elective surgeries and some clinic visits for the remainder of today.
