November 24, 2022 — OTTAWA — An important milestone was recently reached in CHEO’s 1Door4Care project. The government of Ontario released the request for proposals (RFP) to three prequalified teams to prepare their bids to construct the new integrated children’s treatment centre that will serve the more than 40,000 children and youth in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
“Providing a seamless and integrated experience for kids and their families has become a critical mission here at CHEO. We need to make sure that CHEO is their one-stop health-care center where physical, developmental or mental health care can be provided under one roof,” said Alex Munter, President and CEO, CHEO. “This RFP process is one step closer to making this dream a reality.”
1Door4Care will merge seven locations from across the region into one state-of-the-art children’s treatment centre on CHEO’s main campus on Smyth Road. The goal is to improve how care is delivered and make it easier for patients and their families to have access to all the care they need at the same address.
