CHEO's partial holiday slowdown is separate from the province-wide lockdown recently announced by the Government of Ontario. During the lockdown from December 26 until January 21 in the south of Ontario, hospitals, mental health and addictions counselling, and home-care services for children with disabilities, among others, will continue to operate as planned.
CHEO will not be cancelling clinic appointments or scheduled procedures and surgeries as a result of the provincial lockdown. The CHEO School will shift to teacher-led remote learning from Monday, January 4 to Wednesday, January 6. In-person learning will resume on Thursday, January 7.
CHEO is always here for you when you need us. Our Emergency Department and all urgent and essential services are always open, but for a few days each December/January, non-urgent clinic appointments are deferred and our administrative services are closed. This cost-containment strategy allows us to better serve you throughout the year.

Elective clinic appointments and elective surgeries are not booked on the closure days.
