A journey of growth and achievement: meet Malakai

Malakai, is a bubbly six-year-old who came into the world as a premature baby. After his parents noticed reoccurring symptoms, Malakai was back at CHEO where he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 17 months old. He is one of the many children who benefit from the multiple services offered through Development and Rehabilitation at CHEO. Malakai attends the CHEO School, where he makes amazing strides in his education, speech, and developmental milestones. Access to a wide variety of services at CHEO makes all the difference for Malakai, and he is ready to transition to a community school for Grade One.
