Ottawa, Ont., July 10, 2024 - CHEO has been proudly named a top employer for diversity in Canada’s health care and social services sector by Forbes magazine. Released Tuesday morning, the prestigious Forbes 2024 Canada's Best Employers for Diversity ranked CHEO as the top hospital, and third in the healthcare and social services sector, solidifying its position as a health-care leader for fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Studies show a diverse workforce leads to higher employee loyalty, which also helps build stronger relationships. This aligns with CHEO’s mission to provide a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment, and underscores a commitment to building a workforce that reflects the communities it serves.
“Our ultimate goal is to create a space where everyone feels safe, valued, and has a sense of belonging,” says Alex Munter. “This applies not only to our incredible staff and medical staff, but also to the children and families who come to CHEO for care. While this recognition is a source of pride, we see it as a milestone on our journey, not the destination. We remain committed to ongoing improvement to ensure CHEO is a truly inclusive environment for all.”
The independent survey, presented by Forbes from information gathered by Statista, gathered insights from over 40,000 professionals across various industries in Canada with at least 500 employees.
2024 is a time of significant growth and transformation at CHEO, which includes the construction of a new integrated health centre. CHEO is also hiring, and you can check the website for the latest openings.
This is not the first time that Forbes Magazine has recognized CHEO in 2024. Forbes also recognized CHEO as the best place to work in Canadian health care earlier this year.
