We recently received our first donation of handmade non-medical face masks from our lovely sewing community. Thank you to Michelle Contant, mother of Sophie Contant who works at CHEO as a Patient Service Clerk, for answering our call for donations right away. Check out this message from Michelle about what inspired her to sew non-medical masks for CHEO:
Dear CHEO
My daughter Sophie Contant was 4 years old when she had a hernia operation at CHEO. She
was so well taken care of. She is now a Patient Service Clerk at CHEO. Being a seamstress
myself, my daughter sent me your request for non-medical face masks. I didn’t hesitate and
got on the task right away. THANK YOU TO ALL!!! I truly appreciate all our front line workers
especially all the nurses. You have inspired my daughter to pursue nursing. THANKING YOU ALL for inspiring her!
On April 23 I delivered 40 masks! I will continue to sew as many as needed.
Amicably,
Mrs. Michelle Contant
From all CHEO staff and medical staff, a huge thank you to everyone who is working hard to sew non-medical face masks for the kids, teens, parents and caregivers at CHEO. Your contributions are helping us to keep everyone at CHEO safe.
