CHEO among Newsweek’s 2022 World’s Best Hospitals
OTTAWA, Ontario, — Once again, CHEO has been recognized among the world’s best, making Newsweek’s 2022 World’s Best Hospitals list.
“It’s an honour to be recognized among the best in the world at caring for children and youth,” said CHEO President and CEO, Alex Munter. “And it’s rewarding for our team to know that our perseverance and hard work continues to shine through, even amid the ongoing pressures of the pandemic. Masks, physical distancing and virtual care may have changed how we do things, but not our uncompromising care and compassion for kids, families, our community and each other. I continue to be inspired by our staff and medical staff at CHEO,” added Munter.
CHEO is listed alongside a handful of peers from Canada on this prestigious list which highlights the world’s best pediatric, cancer, trauma and cardiology centres, among other specialty health-care centres. See the full list of hospitals that made the list along with the methodology used
Newsweek and Statista invited more than 40,000 medical experts—including doctors, hospital managers and health care professionals—to participate in online surveys that allowed them to recommend and assess various hospitals within their respective specializations. The results of the survey were then validated by a global board of renowned medical experts.
The World’s Best Hospitals 2022 recognizes the best medical institutions across 17 countries. These countries include Canada, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, France, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, USA and the United Kingdom.
CHEO recently celebrated its sixth time on Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers and a 10th consecutive year as one of the National Capital Region Top Employers, an annual competition organized by MediaCorp Canada Inc. CHEO has also been named one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures and recognized by Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month, among many other accolades for our medical and research professionals. The 2020 Faces Magazine recognized Alex Munter as a favourite CEO of the year.
CHEO is always looking for great people – in fact, come work for the best! CHEO is currently recruiting nurses, psychologists and researchers.
