CHEO among Newsweek’s 2022 World’s Best Children’s Hospitals
OTTAWA, Ontario, March 2 — CHEO has once again been named one of the best pediatric hospital in the world by Newsweek magazine. CHEO is always looking for great people – in fact, come work with the best! CHEO is currently recruiting for various positions.
CHEO is one of just 150 pediatric hospitals to be recognized by Newsweek’s 2022 World’s Best Hospitals list and among a handful in Canada. CHEO is listed with other specialty hospitals, which highlights the world’s best pediatric, cancer, trauma, cardiology, oncology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery and pulmonology. See the full list of hospitals that made the list.
To develop the list, Newsweek and Statista conducted research, inviting tens of thousands of doctors, hospital managers and other health-care professionals to complete an online survey. They also conducted patient surveys to assess satisfaction with care, and looked at performance indicators such as hygiene, patient safety and quality of treatment. Learn more about the methodology used to develop the list.
The World’s Best Hospitals 2022 recognizes the best medical institutions across 20 countries. These countries include USA, Canada, Germany, France, UK, Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Israel, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Thailand, Italy, Brazil, India, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
“This is a wonderful tribute to our staff and medical staff at CHEO who truly partner with families to provide world-class care,” said Alex Munter, CHEO’s President and CEO. “Despite the on-going global pandemic and the enormous challenges we have faced, this recognition is a reminder about the passion and commitment I see here every day, and how helping kids to live their best lives inspires us every day."
CHEO recently celebrated its 11th consecutive year as one of the National Capital Region Top Employers, an annual competition organized by MediaCorp Canada Inc. and received the 5-star reward and recognition employer in 2022 by Canadian HR Reporter. CHEO has also been named one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures and recognized by Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month, among many other accolades for our medical and research professionals. The 2020 Faces Magazine recognized Alex Munter as a favourite CEO of the year.
