Making discoveries today for healthier kids tomorrow
At CHEO, research is everywhere and you can be part of it. No matter what part of CHEO you're visiting, there's probably an opportunity for you to participate in improving how we care for you and your family. Research at CHEO is led by the CHEO Research Institute, where, with your help, we make more than 500 discoveries every year. Research at CHEO is internationally recognized for its excellence and impact, especially in these areas:
- genetics and rare disease
- healthy active living and obesity
- cancer
- emergency medicine
- mental health
- bone health
Whether you answered a survey, agreed to do a little bit extra during a clinic visit or hopped onto a treadmill for us, thank you for being part of our research.
Last year, more than 45,500 patients and families were part of the research we do here at CHEO!
Take part!
Have you been asked to participate in a research study at CHEO? Do you want to know more about how health research happens? Do you want to get more involved in the research we do?
You can visit the CHEO Research Institute website to learn more about:
- if a study is right for you and your family
- who does what on a research team
- what different words and terms mean in the Research Dictionary
- becoming more involved through our Family Leader Program
- what research is happening at CHEO on our A to Z list
Our goal is to make sure that we're asking the right questions, doing the right research and approaching our work so that it helps families like yours.
