November 3, 2022 – Ontario’s specialty pediatric hospitals are standardizing the type of feeding tube equipment they use for children and youth, making the administration of nutrition and medications safer. Ottawa, Canada — CHEO, like other pediatric hospitals, continues to be very busy with the onset of an early viral season. (See our October 7 release.)
Our Emergency Department just had its busiest September ever. Kids are coming into Emergency sicker and we are seeing a higher proportion with respiratory viral illnesses. Our inpatient medicine units (where most of the admissions from Emergency go) are consistently running at or above 120% capacity.
